Name: Luke Skywalker
Age: 22
Height: 1.72 cm

Personality: If there's one word to describe Luke Skywalker with, it's idealistic. He believes people are good, and can be, or are, better than they present themselves to be (or think they are), such as Han Solo (a belief that was rewarded when Han came back during the Death Star fight) or even Darth Vader. He has a strong sense of right and wrong and is perfectly willing to fight for goals because it's the 'right thing to do', such as fighting with the Rebel Alliance. Despite having basically all illusions (and his hand) ripped away by Vader when he told Luke he was his father, this idealism ultimately stays with him, perhaps stronger for the hits it's taken.

Luke's loyal, probably a bit more to people than theoretical goals or causes, as he felt that he couldn't leave his aunt and uncle to go with Ben Kenobi because they needed him on the farm and were family, no matter how much he wanted to get off Tatooine and Ben and the princess of Alderaan might need his help as well.
He's friendly, cares about people and makes connections easily (even when the other half might not want that, like Han), regardless of if the individual is an organic being or a droid. In the case of droids he treats them pretty much as he would any other being in galaxy, talking to them and asking questions even when it's not strictly necessary, like the medical droid on Hoth or talking to Threepio and Artoo in any number of instances.

Luke's motivations go from the nebulous desire to simply get off Tatooine and to get the chance to fly while he's still living with his aunt and uncle, to the slightly more focused desire to become a Jedi after Obi-Wan reveals who his father was and the Empire has killed his remaining family.
It's not something easily fulfilled, though, since Obi-Wan quickly dies, but it's clearly something that drives him even without a teacher, and his father having been a Jedi is the reason he gives to Yoda when the old Jedi Master asks why he'd wish to become a Jedi. His father might be dead (though he later has to square the stories of the Jedi Knight and General Anakin Skywalker against the current reality of Darth Vader) and he might not have known who he really was for a long time, but Luke has looked up to his father for a long time, and finding out he was a Jedi only strengthens that and gives him additional purpose after his aunt and uncle are killed.
After finding out - and having to deal with - the reality that his father is Darth Vader, Luke somehow doesn't lose his motivation or that inner sense of idealism. It is, in some ways even added to by hoping to bring his father back to the Light.

At least his desire to fly is easier attained than becoming a Jedi, and it's is something he loves and has wanted to do since young. Up until he joined the Rebels, he'd only flown an in-atmosphere Skyhopper, but that was enough for him, at least while there was no better. And while flying isn't just something he loves and wants to do, it's also something he's very, very good at (barreling through narrow canyons on Tatooine shooting two-meter long rat creatures at top speed does take some skill, after all), and even if the Skyhopper was made by the same company that made the X-wing, so that he had some familiarity with the controls, he still had enough skill (and perhaps used the Force unconsciously as well), to fly a spaceship in combat and survive on the first time he flew something else other than his Skyhopper.

Luke thinks well on his feet even if his ability to plan and lead people needs to develop over the years. From the half-formed plan to rescue Leia by staging a "prisoner transfer" on the Death Star, to becoming a Commander and leading the Rogues on Hoth and planning Han's rescue, even if that plan got somewhat derailed as well.
He usually tries to negotiate and bargain before he resorts to violence, not necessarily from a belief that it will work or that the other individual will go along with it or even deserves it (Jabba the Hutt, for example), but that it's right to, when possible, not use violence first.

Of course, this wasn't always so; Luke can be, and was, especially earlier in life, impatient and not a little reckless. If people (especially his friends) need help, or the situation seems to demand it he's going to act, whether it's advisable to do so or not.

He has a temper that, while it usually is nothing more than briefly stirred up and often in conjunction with his own impatience (getting annoyed over Han's price for hiring the Falcon, Han's insistence that he's not going to help rescue Leia, getting frustrated with Yoda's delaying tactics), it just as quickly blows over. Usually, anyway; threatening his friends, and Leia in particular, or other people he's connected with is a button better left alone as that really reveals what Luke's capable of when angry.
And while he does get better at controlling his anger, particularly after Bespin, it's not something that just goes away. He is, after all, only human.

Abilities: Luke is a very good pilot, both when it comes to space-worthy vehicles (in particular fighter ships), and ships limited to atmosphere only, and he's also a proficient shot with a blaster as well as good at mechanical repair or work.
Being Force-sensitive, Luke has access to Force and all the things one can do with it, though since he's still learning, his abilities are somewhat limited. He can use Force-assisted jumps (meaning he can jump further than a human would be capable of, even from a standing start), and Force-speed as well, along with augmenting his own stamina with the Force and levitating things or calling/drawing them to him through the Force.
He's still learning how to use the lightsaber to its full capability, but he has some rudimentary duelling knowledge and can, rather reliably, deflect blaster shots with it. He learns quickly with the help of the Force - and learns new Force abilities quickly as well. He can communicate telepathically with, at least, both Leia and Vader, though that may be because all of them are related to each other, even if he's only aware of his connection to Vader as his father.

Prose sample: If there was any doubt that this was a trap, it was gone by the time he landed on an empty landing pad. Before it he'd wondered, of course, worrying over the nature of the vision he'd had on Dagobah and then, considering there'd been no air control hails or similar either, it'd become increasingly obvious that it was. And now, walking carefully down shining white and very empty corridors, there was no way to deny it. They were - must have been - prepared for him coming. There was no other reason for the building in a clearly-inhhabited mining colony city to be abandoned.

Hesitating between his blaster and lightsaber, he finally drew the blaster because it would probably be more useful at the moment. He could deflect blaster shots with his lightsaber extremely well by now, but the blaster was, to be honest, more useful for ranged attacks.

With a dark knot clawing his insides and the memories of the vision playing in his mind - and the ghosts of screams and pain that wasn't just a vision, experienced while on the way here to Bespin lingering there as well - Luke jogged down the corridors, having to pause a few times to let Artoo catch up.

Where could Leia and Han be? Was he too late to do anything--- No, he couldn't think like that. He was not too late. Setting his jaw, Luke forced his shoulders to relax and peered down the intersection he was at. Everything was still empty and white, and it was rather eerie. He needed to find Leia and Han, but how was he to do that in an empty city, aside from just... walking around and hoping he'd find them?

He should've tried to formulate some sort of plan, but he'd been so preoccupied with just getting here in time, and now he couldn't come up with anything better than following his instinct regarding where to go.

Hefting his blaster again, Luke reached out and patted Artoo's dome.

"Okay, let's go. We'll find them. Somehow." He was, of course, trying to reassure himself more than Artoo, but the astromech made a reassuring beep in response, and he smiled faintly. He wouldn't fail, either Leia or Han, or Yoda and Ben.
